Single Speed

Single speed, track, and fixed have become our specialty. Absence of derailleurs makes all three types of bicycles lighter and more dependable.

A single speed bicycle has a freewheel on the rear wheel to allow coasting.  However, the single speed will require front and rear brakes.  The sizes of the freewheel and chainring can be changed to attain different gear ratios.

Jamis, Bianchi, Fuji, and Swobo all have dedicated single speed models. We stock single-speed bicycle frame sets, parts, and wheels by F.G., and chain tensioners by Paul, Pyramid, Surly, Shimano and others.

Most types of bicycles can be changed into a single-speed. Single-speed customs:
We will revert your multi-speed to single-speed, or build a custom single speed bicycle from the ground up, or using any combination of parts you bring in. Also, any of our complete track bikes can be converted to single-speed for around $70.
