With a wildly contrasting juxtaposition between riding loaded bikes in the city, and voyaging swiftly out of it on a ferry, Thayne and I went on an amazing sub-24 hour overnighter earlier in the summer. Leaving our city apartments behind, we boarded a ferry with all our gear and found ourselves out in the Boston Harbor Islands. While cycling isn’t allowed on the island, we didn’t mind so much as we saw the sights, battled off voracious turkeys, explored ruined fortifications, and watch the sun set over the Boston skyline. All this for less than a night out on the town. While the cycling portion of our journey was a less prominent component of this trip, our time on the boundary between the city and the open sea was no less amazing.
