Each uses fluid, magnetic, or wind resistance (respectively). For those who live with upstairs or downstairs neighbors, getting set up with the Fluid² is a great way to minimize noise without sacrificing your training. We also have in the CycleOps Climbing Block, which supplies three different elevation positions for road bikes. To cut back on dust and...

Tyler Hamilton, Cambridge Bicycle owner Kip Chinian, and Craig Roth. (Photo by Steve Pucci) Our good friend Steve Pucci of Downeast Bicycle Specialists stopped by with old friend of his, current US National Road Race Champion, Tyler Hamilton. The two of them were out for a ride, and Steve wanted to show Tyler our shop. Of course, Kip tried to recruit Tyler to race for our cyclocross team, and as far as I can recall, Tyler didn't say no...

Lucas "Safety" Brunelle going head-to-head with Morgan from Cambridge Bicycle at the checkpoint in Grudgematch 3 on Friday night. Friday night was Grudgematch 3, a one checkpoint alleycat from Chinatown to Forrest Hills, and back to the party at Puma City on the waterfront. 1st Shots From Battenkill.N.Y.

This is our girl Perri, hammering it out at this year's Battenkill race. It was well attended and the racing was fierce. More reports to come, but suffice it to say our Cambridge Bicycle racers were in the middle of it all. This picture of Perri was in Velonews...making us just so proud!!!

Some of Us Are More Hardcore Than Others…

Some of Us Are More Hardcore Than Others…

I raced a Pro1-2-3 race today and thought that I was pretty tough (though I was dispatched rather quickly). Then my woman came home from a mountain bike race. She is battered and bruised, having endured some of the worst conditions on the circuit in years: driving rain laced with sleet mucking up demanding technical trails. She was still shivering 4 hours later! I thought that the condition of her bicycle and her clothing was noteworthy. Remember this bike has been on top of a car for 150...

Product Review: Fuji SLM 2.0

Product Review: Fuji SLM 2.0

I bought this bike to race it, so speed and efficiency are more important to me than a plush ride. After riding it a few times I have formed a few opinions: Holy Smokes, this bike is fast! I am impressed with the stiffness and the snappiness of the frame and drivetrain. Climbing is easy since the bike is so light that you can easily chuck it up and over huge rocks and roots. Descending is harsh because the rear end is unforgiving (speed comes at a price). The combination of the handlebar...

Ronde Van Vlaanderen Causes RMM to Remember the Telecom Bike

Ronde Van Vlaanderen Causes RMM to Remember the Telecom Bike

Kip bought this bike a few years back on eBay. It is a genuine pro bike, used in the the Tour de France. You know, that race the Texan guy won a whole bunch. This bike is built with Campagnolo Record Titanium 9 Speed, which means that it is only useful as a whole bike, none of the parts are compatible with any other parts made, not even other Campagnolo 9 Speed Groupos. So there is little chance that a part will be poached to keep another bike running. Today I was watching the Tour of Flanders...

Fuji SLM 2.0–New Race Bike

Fuji SLM 2.0–New Race Bike

I will be representing the race team on the XC circuit this season. Bud, Jason, Kip and the honorable Mr. McCormack were kind enough to hook me up with this ultra light whip. Thanks guys. With pedals, it weighs an even 22 lbs even. While many associate CB with fixed gears, the shop is outfitted to service fancy mountain bikes too. Tom was able to build this up to proper torque settings, with perfect shifting and braking and logical fit in less than an hour. This bike will be periodically on...

At the turn of the century there was a velodrome across the street from Cambridge Bicycle. The races drew huge crowds and one of the racers was none other than major Taylor. He was always the racer to beat and as an african american overcame enormous challenges to be sucessful. This collage is a homage to him and all the racers and energy that blasted around that long destroyed track....wow!

Craig Roth Repping Boston Hard @ Monster Track X!

Craig Roth Repping Boston Hard @ Monster Track X!

Our boy, and employee, Craig "Jackson" Roth will be holding it down for Boston this weekend in the 10th installment of Monster Track. Monster Track is the messenger race of messenger races and can only be raced on a fixed gear with no brakes. This has led to problems with the man in years past and obviously to more than a few wrecks, but hopefully this years events will go off without issues or injury! Craig will be heading down on his new whip, which he just got built up. It is an Affinity...

In the end it was Eric who took home the Gold Velocity Wheelset donated by Cambridge Bicycle. Alex came in second with Tristan( different Tristan than the...

Matthew Eberhardt Sets Mile Record!

Matthew Eberhardt, son of New England Velodrome director Tony Eberhardt, prepares to launch on his record setting ride. Riding a specially prepared bike from the Manchester Police Athletic League and wearing high-tech fabrics donated by MIT Cycling, Matt went 3:09 for the mile, setting a new record for his age category. While the crowd cheered him on, Matthew repeatedly got out of the saddle to power through the windy back straight and kept on a consistent schedule throughout the 5 lap effort....
