Come to our next after hours event!

You're warmly invited to a fun evening of stories, bikes, snacks, and beer at Cambridge Bicycle! Our very own mechanic, Spencer, and his wife Sam, will be telling their tale of a multi-week bike tour through Japan from earlier this year.  Come hear of their adventures and be inspired to go on one of your own! Spencer and Sam's talk will be hosted at our shop on Thursday 10/11 at 7:30 PM.   See you then!

The Packing Adventure… NAHBS NAHBS NAHBS!!!!

The Packing Adventure… NAHBS NAHBS NAHBS!!!!

Packing a bike to fly can be a mildly stressful ordeal. Airlines often charge high fees for bicycles and if you are anything like me you don't like the thought of your bike getting tossed around by baggage handlers who likely laugh at the word FRAGILE written on boxes. While I have had a reasonable amount of luck using a new bike box and packing it with care, this trip I have decided to try something new. Kip (owner of Cambridge Bicycle and Superb) offered to let me borrow his Bike Pro USA...

L.A. L.A. Land, Part I

L.A. L.A. Land, Part I

On a recent trip to L.A. to visit my friend, I stopped to check out the bike culture out there, which is thriving. I checked out Orange 20 Bicycles and The Bicycle Cafe. Orange 20 has great murals for their storefront (one which features a ninja on a bicycle). The guy that runs Trackasaurusrex was at the front counter. He told me that Robin Williams came in and recently bought a Colnago. (Being in L.A., I'm sure this shop must have some famous clientele.) He also broke my heart when they...

N. Harvard Street finally getting a makeover

N. Harvard Street finally getting a makeover

Ok, so it's not quite as bad as this picture...yet. But we all know that the section of North Harvard St. by Harvard Stadium is in dire need of some big-time repairs. I used to loath that route like nothing else when I had to take it to and from my old job every day: bumpy as hell, cars parked on both sides, the godforsaken 66(6) bus nearly running me off the road. So, I'm excited to report that the city has finally taken note of this deathtrap and drawn up reconstruction plans. According to...

Final Pics

Final Pics

Some final pics of Portsmouth, such a dream of a town with historic preservation but i was surprised to see such few bikes out there. It was easy to imagine the town without cars but to see what will follow will take a bit more foresight.

The Juicery in Portsmouth N.H.

The Juicery in Portsmouth N.H.

We just had our busiest day of the year at Cambridge Bicycle, and at times like these I wish we had the store the size of an aircraft hanger. It gets real tight and hot (soon to be hotter) and it gets a bit stressful. I guess you can see where this post is going, as I met alex last sat. He is the owner of the Juicery in Portsmouth N.H. and he operates his business full-time in a space of less than 400sq ft. We ate there four times in two days as we were so impressed by the quality of his food...

Bailey Works Art Project

Bailey Works Art Project

I took a couple days off to explore Portsmouth and i tripped onto the Ello gallery and shop. Our man John Bailey sponsored this cool project where N.H, Artists were able to unleash their creative powers on some of our favorite bags. The results as you can see are stunning. So --head up to Portsmouth to check this out. More posts to come on this trip.

Tour of California

As the tour of California is currently in progress, Rapha Continental is sharing their account of the tour from a riders perspective through videos, photography and personal reports. Check out the Rapha Continental website for more info before each new stage of the race. Keep an eye out for our man Jeremy Dunn, and also check out his Blog for more info from him.

J. Dunn, International Man of Mystery

Our very own Jeremy Dunn just made it home from about a month of traveling through Europe. Along the way he attended some pretty amazing cyclocross races (among other things) and put out some amazing videos, my favorite of which can be seen below. The super sketchy cross hill section combined with the melodies of Ratatat are what really make this video for me. To see more about Jeremy's exploits go check out his BLOG! Keep an eye out for more news coming up as he leaves today for some epic...
