We were lucky enough to have Jon Bailey of Bailey Works Bags stop by the shop to give us a demo of some new products, including the new backpacks. It was awesome to learn all about the bags and how superior the new fabrics are compared to earlier models.
The setup of the new bags is super adjustable and usable– so much so that I have added the large size to my short list of future purchases. One of my favorite features of the bag is how lightweight the new fabric is. Compared to my current bag, the new Bailey feels almost half as heavy with the same storage capacity.
One of the most important things I learned is how to adjust the shoulder straps. Typically, when putting on a sling bag on, you tighten the strap as tight as it will go. You don’t want to do that with this bag. First, tighten them up. Then, back them off a small amount. If you don’t do this, you will restrain the natural motion your neck makes while in a riding position. After making this adjustment, the bag is very comfortable, and allows better views over your shoulders than other bags.
