Mt Washington Hillclimb

Jun 20, 2009

This very morning a pack of three hundred cyclists are making their way up the Mt. Washington auto road in the yearly Mt. Washington Auto Road Hillclimb. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the annual hillclimb, it’s roughly 7.9 miles of a 22% uphill grade. (Here’s a breakdown of the ride, courtesy of North East Cycling.)
Last week someone came into the shop and talked about his experience with the climb on his Bianchi Pista. He said he made it in one hour and 20 minutes, at a better time than his multi-gear rode bike. We sell Pistas at the shop, of course, and we also carry 22-tooth cogs and teeny-tiny chain rings. Inspired yet?
